In 2017, for the first time in the history of the Shockwave Signs Production Touring Car Championship, a round would be held on Queensland soil, and at one of the most iconic tracks in Australian Motorsport – Lakeside Park.
Earlier this year, the PTC brand expanded into Queensland, with the launch of the Bilstein Suspension Queensland Production Touring Car Championship.
With that, it was only appropriate that the New South Wales championship would take their 2017 interstate round up to the Sunshine State, for a State of Origin clash with their new Queensland colleagues.
Round 2 for inaugural Queensland Championship, Round 3 for the 2017 Shockwave Signs NSW Championship, and Round 1 of the MoComm Cup, as the Queensland’s brigade of BMW’s face off against the brands that dominate in NSW, Mitsubishi and Holden.
