REPLAY: NSWPTC/QLDPTC Double-Header Weekend.

17499344_10208954397762521_936127956730902979_nThe opening weekend of April was an historic one for those involved in the Production Touring Car Championship.

Not only was a new season launching in NSW, but for the first time ever, the brand was going racing on Queensland soil, with the launch of the Bilstein Suspension Queensland Production Touring Car Championship.

For the Shockwave Signs NSWPTC, Wakefield Park was the venue for the opening sprint round of the season, with no less than 35 cars lining up.

Our friends at 2MCE Sport are back as the series broadcaster for 2017, and launched their coverage with a massive DOUBLE-HEADER!

To cover both events, 2MCE pooled their resources, using the help of Chequered Flag Media and Zak Sports Media to make a two-night broadcast, and over five hours of coverage possible.

DSC_0946Here at Zak Sports, we’re proud to be able to bring you both of those broadcasts in full as well, due to popular demand.

Our opening night coverage features an in-depth interviews with QLD Series President Gerry Murphy, and QLD Raceways owner, John Tetley.

Justin Anthony will provide some insight into the Lakeside Park circuit, and we’ll bring you both Saturday sprint races in full.

From Wakefield, Race 1 over 15 laps, plus a look at the new names and cars lining up for PTC in 2017.

Night 1

DSC_0954Second night coverage features all  the Sunday action from both sides of the Tweed.

First up, an historic enduro from Lakeside – not only the culmination of the opening event in the inaugural season of the QLDPTC Championship, but also the first time PTC has raced on Queensland soil.

As soon as we’re done at Lakeside, we head to Wakefield Park in Goulburn for Races 2 and 3 in Round 1 of the NSW Championship, presented by Shockwave Signs.

Night 2

The broadcast is headed by our own Zak Caban, who is on the ground at Lakeside – he’ll be joined by Mark Jones in commentary for the three races up there.

At Wakefield Park, Garry O’Brien (Auto Action) will bring you Race 1 on Night 1, and Brian Van De Wakker will steer you through the remaining two races on Day 2.
